Main Street Report

As part of the Main Street Lakewood beautification effort, we are delighted to report that the building housing the Party Station and Cerny Shoes will soon be sporting new awnings! Also, with our encouragement, the owners of the INA Building are now turning on building lights to illuminate the sidewalk on Detroit in the evening.

Detroit Avenue striping per the streetscape design plan will be complete within the next 2 weeks. We expect that a consistent traffic pattern throughout the city (parallel parking on both sides, one lane of traffic in each direction and a center turn lane) will smooth traffic flow and create a more pedestrian friendly environment in our commercial districts. We ask for the patience and understand of LakewoodAlive members as residents and vistors adjust to our new way of moving through the city.
