LakewoodAlive Announces Search for New Executive Director

LakewoodAlive announced today that it is beginning a search for a new executive director to lead the organization, which focuses on sustaining and improving the economic health and vitality of the community.

The organization’s current executive director, Mary Anne Crampton, has decided to step down as executive director of the organization. She plans to continue on as a LakewoodAlive volunteer. “Having served first as a volunteer and then for almost four years as executive director, I am very proud of the tangible results we have achieved,” Crampton said. “It is with full confidence in LakewoodAlive’s future that I step away from the leadership role. Doing so will provide me with the opportunity to pursue personal and professional interests that have been necessarily sidelined for the past several years.”

According to Jennifer Baker, president of LakewoodAlive’s Board of Directors, the organization has achieved tremendous success and growth under Crampton’s leadership. “Mary Anne has guided our organization in its efforts to revitalize downtown through the MainStreet™ program and has worked tirelessly with retailers, volunteers and residents and city staff to improve the quality of life in Lakewood. We are thrilled that she will continue her involvement with LakewoodAlive as a volunteer,” Baker said.

A search committee made up of several members of the organization’s Board of Directors will lead the effort to recruit a new executive director. More information about the search will be released in the near future.

Ms. Crampton does an excellent job as executive director. I'm sure the board will find a replacement that lives up to the work Ms. Crampton so successfully completed.

She will be sorely missed, but I'm sure glad she will continue her involvement as a volunteer! Great job in every way, Ms. Crampton!
